Great Guide Book

Love the rough guides. Just wished at times sections were perhaps colour coded for ease of reference and tube maps printed the right way round! Layout could be more user friendly but perhaps that's down to personal preference. Tube stations etc should be more clearly defined ie along with said metro station a reference to how to find it on the tube map at the back of the book. The tube map at the back of the book itself should therefore have a reference guide as does london underground map to help locate tube stations. This would just make things so much easier!! Otherwise a great guide book!

Not as good as it used to be

The format of Rough Guides seems to have changed. The restaurants are now all group together rather than in the area in which they are situated. Confusingly the restaurants are still shown on the area maps but there is no page reference for the descriptions meaning I had to write this in for all the areas we visited.
The list of the top things to do in Paris seemed very idiosyncratic- unless you have seen all of Paris I would not recommend a trip out to Chateau Malmaison - how that could possibly make it into the top 20 of a fabulous city like Paris is bizarre. Maybe one for top 20 errors in top 20’s ;-).
