Completely out of date
2018 version.
Doesn't mention the train line.
Many hotels are closed.
Waste of money....
Fantastic guide
A lot of the bad reviews here seem to be directed at the Lonely Planet guide instead of the Rough Guide. This Rough Guide is actually fantastic - of the 5 guides about Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos we own this one is my favourite guide by far. I've actually read almost the whole thing because it was such a pleasure to read and contrary to most guides, this one has strongly influenced the choices we made for our holiday.
Good book
